Peri-Op Support Associate

This position performs basic patient care activities to patients in assigned areas.

Summary

This position performs basic patient care activities to patients in assigned areas.

Responsibilities

• Assists with treatments ordered by physician and supervised by a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
• Reports findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
• Assists with keeping patient rooms clean and orderly.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education

HIGH

Required Certifications and Licensures

BLS : Basic Life Support, within 1 month of hire or transfer.

PCT : MMH PCT / CNA / EMT / LPN Certification, or a current State of Michigan registry document as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or completion of Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification, or completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program culminating in licensure in the state of Michigan.

Experience, Training, And Skills

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.

Physical / Mental Requirements And Typical Working Conditions

Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as trauma, grief, and death. Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, and ability to stay awake.
