Director of Family Medicine

A Director of Family Medicine is needed in Portage, Indiana.

Portage is a welcoming lakeside community offering easy access to Chicago, a lower cost of living, and a growing healthcare network. This opportunity is with a mission-driven outpatient clinic dedicated to providing high-quality, team-based primary care to families across Northwest Indiana. As the clinical leader, you will guide a team of providers while maintaining your own patient panel in a supportive, patient-centered environment.

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary Range : $260,000 $275,000 annually
  • Vacation : 160 hours per year
  • Personal Time : 40 hours per year
  • Continuing Medical Education : 40 hours + $2,500 annual allowance

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct outpatient primary care services to patients of all ages
  • Oversee clinical quality, provider mentorship, and team development
  • Collaborate with administrative and clinical leadership to improve operations and outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and evidence-based care guidelines
  • Work standard business hours (no nights, weekends, or on-call)
  • Schedule options include 5x8s or 4x10s for optimal work-life balance
  • Lead and support a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering comprehensive, accessible care

    • Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
  • Board Certified in Family Medicine
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in the State of Indiana
  • Leadership experience required (clinical supervision or medical director background preferred)
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and decision-making skills
  • Commitment to serving diverse and underserved populations
