American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring a WV or compact RN license and strong OR clinical skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in the acute care Operating Room with three OR suites and one procedure roomHandles a range of surgical cases including total joints, sports medicine, general surgery, OBGYN, urology, plastics, and ENTTypical caseload varies by day, with Tuesdays and Thursdays seeing up to 22 cases and other days 6 to 14 casesUses Epic EMR systemFour 10-hour day shifts per week, 6 : 45 AM to 5 : 15 PM, Monday through FridayCall is required, typically 3-4 call shifts per month including occasional weekend rotation every 6-7 weeksCall response time is 30 minutes and holidays are covered by call1 : 1 RN to patient ratio with 2 OR techs per roomClosed on holidays and weekends except for call coverageNo regular floating required for travelersDuties include circulating surgical cases; scrubbing is not required for RNsOrientation includes three shifts with a preceptor following general hospital orientationTeam includes 24 / 7 charge nurse support and in-house RT coverageModern environment with innovative equipment such as the ROSA robot for ortho casesScrubs are providedWeekend and holiday call coverage may be required as part of the rotationThe unit is traveler-friendly with opportunities for contract extension\n \n Requirements\n
Active WV or compact RN license requiredMinimum 3 years of Operating Room RN experienceCurrent BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA required)Experience with Epic EMR preferredCandidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facilityFirst-time travelers will be considered if they have strong OR experienceCOVID-19 vaccination required unless approved for a medical or religious exemptionFormer WVU employees / travelers must have a 2-year gap since last employment at any WVU Medicine location\n Benefits\n
