Role Description

We are seeking a full-time Accountant to join our Phoenix, AZ office. The Accountant will take ownership of all core accounting functions across a growing portfolio, including accounts receivable and payable, financial reporting, budgeting, bank reconciliations, and CAM reconciliations. Experience in real estate accounting is not required.

You’ll work closely with property management and leadership teams, contribute to system improvements, and help mentor junior staff. This position requires advanced proficiency in Yardi and a solid understanding of commercial lease structures, financial operations, and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts receivable, including billing, collections, payments, and reconciliations for a portfolio of properties
  • Oversee accounts payable, invoice processing, and check batches
  • Prepare and deliver accurate monthly financial reports and variance analysis
  • Complete bank reconciliations
  • Complete annual CAM reconciliations
  • Process owner distributions and ensure timely, accurate reporting to ownership groups.
  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting using Yardi Forecast Manager
  • Activate leases and ensure recovery setups align with lease terms
  • Support onboarding of new properties and financial processes
  • Mentor junior accountants and collaborate across teams

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of accounting experience, commercial real estate experience is a plus but not required.
  • Experience in Yardi Voyager, Forecast Manager, Elevate and Procure to Pay is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements.
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Salary range is $90-105k, depending on experience.
