  • Job Summary :

    The Lead Dental Hygienist provides clinical and administrative support, working collectively with the dental team, delivering dental hygiene services while ensuring the highest standards of care and practice efficiency. This role combines hands-on patient care with leadership responsibilities, making it essential for the lead hygienist to balance clinical expertise with team management. The lead hygienist ensures that our patients (adults and children) receive high-quality hygiene services along with comprehensive patient centered oral healthcare.

    Responsibilities :

  • Ensures all actions represent the organization in a highly professional manner.
  • Examines and provides direct patient care regarding dental / oral conditions.
  • Provides oversight in preventative care and develops treatment plans.
  • Completes patient screening procedures.
  • Exposes, processes and mounts dental radiographs (x-rays).
  • Performs routine and advanced dental hygiene procedures.
  • Makes impressions of patients’ teeth for study casts.
  • Performs procedures involving team periodontal surgical techniques.
  • Provides health and wellness advice to patients / families.
  • Effectively communicates with other health care providers.
  • Education & Experience :

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in dental hygiene.
  • Active Michigan licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH).
  • Must meet all Continuing Education requirements.
  • Minimum of five (5) years clinical experience.
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with staff and other providers.
  • Knowledge of public health principles and practices.
  • Must maintain confidentiality relating to treatment in accordance with HIPAA.
  • Must be proficient with Electronic Dental Records.
  • Familiarity with coding (ICD-10) and determining level of service.
  • Experience in treating patients of all ages.
  • Critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Must demonstrate an ability to perform effectively and professionally at all times.
