American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) night shift position requiring Oregon licensure, Epic experience, and cardiac post-op heart experience.
Responsibilities
Work in a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) within a Level I Pediatric Trauma Center and teaching hospitalPatient population includes critically ill or injured pediatric patients with complex cardiovascular and post-operative heart casesSpecialized procedures include central line placement, arterial line placement, lumbar puncture, intubations / extubations, CRRT, ECMO cannulations / decannulations, and chest explorationEquipment used includes Hamilton G5 ventilators, DirectLink ICP monitors, Artic Sun Targeted Temperature Management, and Baxter Prismaflex machinesEMR : Epic, prior Epic experience requiredNight shift schedule : 3x12 hour shifts (19 : 00–07 : 30), weekends requiredFloating required within the hospital to NICU and pediatric units, but not to sister hospitalsResponsibilities include caring for pediatric patients with complex cardiac and critical care needs and performing advanced bedside procedures as listedTeam consists of board-certified pediatric intensivists, respiratory therapists, nutritionists, pharmacists, child life specialists, and more, providing 24 / 7 supportScrubs provided; no printed patterns allowedFirst-time travelers accepted with at least 2 years of pediatric cardiac ICU experienceTime off requests must be declared during application and may not exceed 2 weeksLocal candidates are accepted at the same rateCompletion of online learning modules is required prior to startRequirements
Active Oregon RN license required (or proof of application submitted to the state licensing board)Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required, including experience in a Cardiac ICU or with post-op cardiac patientsCurrent BLS and PALS certifications (NRP preferred)Epic EMR experience requiredMust provide two supervisor references from within the past 24 months (or one within 24 months and one within 3-5 years if unable to obtain both recent)COVID-19 vaccination required, no exemptions allowedNo background or license violations acceptedReturn staff must have a 6-month gap before reapplyingBenefits
