Type : Full-Time | In-Person | Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 am - 5 : 00 pm
Rate of Pay : $20-$23 / hour
Are you passionate about serving those who’ve served our country? Catholic Charities is seeking a compassionate and mission-driven SSVF Case Manager to support veterans and their families who are experiencing homelessness or facing housing instability. In this vital role, you’ll provide personalized, wraparound services that promote housing stability, self-sufficiency, and overall well-being.
As part of our Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) team, you’ll walk alongside clients on their journey to secure safe, stable housing—coordinating resources, advocating for their needs, and helping them build a brighter future.
What You WIll Do :
Complete intake and gather necessary documentation to determine program eligibility.
Develop and implement individualized housing stability plans for veterans, outlining short-term and long-term goals.
Collaborate with landlords, housing authorities, and other community partners to secure suitable and affordable housing options for veterans residing in a 5-county area of east-cental Kansas (Wabaunsee, Lyon, Shawnee, Osage, and Coffey counties).
Administer financial assistance to eligible veterans for rent, utilities, and other housing-related expenses.
Provide immediate support and intervention in crisis situations, such as imminent homelessness or emergencies.
Advocate on behalf of veterans to ensure access to benefits and other supportive services.
Demonstrate organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
What You Will Need to Bring to the Table :
Bachelor’s degree in human services. Preference to applicants possessing degree in social work, sociology or psychology OR
Class C driver’s license, personal motor vehicle, and personal motor vehicle insurance required.
Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of two years of professional experience in human services, demonstrating effective support and success in working with low-income, socioeconomically vulnerable individuals, including military veterans.
Demonstrates competency in use of personal computer via mouse and keyboard, familiarity with Windows and Microsoft products.
Controlled inside work environment with noise / vibrations from general office equipment. Minimal exposure to fumes / dust / odors.
Work Type : Light, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and / or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
