Med / Surg RN Job Details Location : Artesia, New Mexico 88210 Healthcare Setting : Acute Care – Medical / Surgical Unit Assignment Length : 13 weeks (Start : 10 / 13 / 2025 – End : 1 / 12 / 2026) Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Shift : 12-hour day shifts (7am–7pm), every other weekend required Unit Size : 26 beds Nurse-to-Patient Ratio : 1 : 3–5 Charting System : CPSI Dress Code : Navy Blue scrubs Estimated Weekly Salary : $1780–$1910 per week Registered Nurse Qualifications Active RN license (New Mexico or compact state) Minimum 1 year of recent Med / Surg RN experience required 3 years of MS-Tele (Medical Surgical-Telemetry) experience preferred PCU / Stepdown nursing experience preferred BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association) required Proficient in reading and interpreting telemetry (Mindray cardiac monitors) Skilled in titrating drips (Insulin, amiodarone, levofed) Willingness to complete up to 20 hours of online modules prior to start Flexible with scheduling; block scheduling not guaranteed Med / Surg RN Responsibilities Deliver high-quality nursing care to medical, surgical, and progressive care patients Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage multiple IV drip protocols Collaborate with nurse aides, respiratory therapists, and the healthcare team for comprehensive patient care Perform AccuChecks, document intake / output, assist with ADLs, and patient transfers Participate in department orientation and complete required training modules Work every other weekend and participate in holiday rotations as needed Support a positive team environment and assist with schedule coverage as needed Discover the benefits of travel nursing jobs in Artesia, NM—a welcoming community with beautiful desert landscapes, local parks, and outdoor recreation.
