General Laboratory Assistant – Fungal Cultures & Biological Testing

Location : Vero Beach

Employment Type : Full-time

Are you curious about the microscopic world and passionate about supporting scientific discovery? Join our dynamic lab team as a General Laboratory Assistant, where you'll play a key role in cultivating diverse fungal cultures and supporting biological research that drives innovation in plant health.

What You’ll Do As a vital part of our production and research operations, you’ll assist with :

  • Fungal Inoculum Preparation

Prepare sterile media for pathogen cultivation

  • Produce and monitor fungal starter cultures
  • Ensure inoculum quality and manage downstream processing (drying, packaging)
  • Laboratory Support

    • Maintain sterile workspaces and equipment

  • Receive, store, and organize lab supplies
  • Assist with general microbiology tasks
  • Biological Testing

    • Help set up small whole-plant trials

  • Support plant maintenance and data entry
  • Other Duties as Assigned

    • Flexibility and teamwork are key—we value your adaptability

    What You Bring We’re looking for someone who is :

  • At least 18 years old with a High School Diploma or GED (higher education a plus)
  • Familiar with sterile lab conditions or eager to learn aseptic techniques
  • Comfortable working with plant-pathogenic fungi (e.g., Fusarium, Rhizoctonia, Pythium)
  • Detail-oriented and committed to following standard operating procedures
  • Proficient with basic computer tools (MS Office)
