Position Summary
Are you ready to make a difference in your community? As a Utility Operator , you will play an essential role in ensuring safe and efficient water and wastewater treatment by performing laboratory analyses, maintaining equipment, and troubleshooting operational issues. This position involves working on a shift schedule and requires physical and mental effort, problem-solving, and adherence to City, State, and Federal regulations .
Normal Shift : 2nd Shift (3 : 00pm-11 : 30pm); Two-week rotation.
Week 1 : Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday
Week 2 : Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain water and wastewater treatment plants, including telemetry controls, motors, pumps, and process equipment.
- Monitor and control water treatment, distribution, and wastewater systems.
- Conduct sample collection and analysis, including water treatment, wastewater, and bacteria samples.
- Perform minor and major repairs to plant equipment and facilities.
- Maintain records by calculating and entering data into computerized systems daily.
- Ensure compliance with all City, State, and Federal regulations.
- Monitor and maintain the press building and chemical stock.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and customer inquiries.
- Maintain a valid State operator's license and participate in safety compliance.
Minimum Requirements :
Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.High School graduate or GED certificate or two (2) years of applicable experience.Must have a Class "D" water and wastewater license or obtain within one (1) year.Motor Vehicle Operator's license, valid in the state of Missouri.Cannot be colorblind.Basic computer skills.Why Join?
