Job Title : Design Manager

Location : North London

Salary : £60,000 – £65,000 + car, bonus and benefits

Are you a natural leader and experienced Design Manager or professional in the construction industry? Do you enjoy taking projects from concept to completion, making sure every detail is delivered to the highest standard? We’re looking for an experienced Design Manager to join a dynamic team and play a key role in driving exciting, large-scale projects forward.

As the Design Manager, you’ll bring together consultants, subcontractors, and client teams, ensuring innovative, compliant, and sustainable design solutions. You’ll be at the heart of projects, influencing outcomes, solving problems, and making a real impact from day one.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading the design process across pre-construction and construction phases.
  • Driving collaboration with consultants and subcontractors in design meetings and workshops.
  • Coordinating submissions for planning, building control, and sustainability (including BREEAM).
  • Reviewing technical details and spotting opportunities for value engineering.
  • Providing expert design and technical support to project teams.
  • Inspiring, mentoring, and developing junior colleagues.

What We’re Looking For

  • A strong background in engineering or architecture.
  • Proven experience as a Design Manager or managing design teams on construction projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • A confident communicator who can build relationships at all levels.
  • Commercially aware, organised, and able to perform under pressure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with strong IT skills.
