Overview
KyCAD is seeking an IT Administrator to support all technology needs across the campus of the Kentucky College of Art and Design. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can balance day-to-day troubleshooting with long-term systems management. The IT Administrator will serve as the primary point of contact for all faculty, staff, and student hardware and software needs, ensuring smooth operations and reliable access to technology resources.
Responsibilities
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting : Provide end-user support for faculty, staff, and students across all hardware (laptops, desktops, printers, peripherals) and software; diagnose and resolve issues related to operating systems, applications, networking, and connectivity; maintain inventory of devices and ensure timely repairs and replacements.
- Systems Administration : Manage the Microsoft 365 environment, including user accounts, permissions, email, Teams, and SharePoint; oversee system updates, backups, and security protocols; implement and monitor endpoint protection and security best practices.
- IT Operations & Planning : Coordinate hardware / software deployment and upgrades; maintain documentation of IT policies, procedures, and support guides; collaborate with other departments and leadership on technology planning to align with organizational needs and budgets.
- Training & Communication : Provide training and guidance to faculty, staff, and students on effective use of technology resources; communicate technical concepts in clear, accessible language.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).2-4 years of hands-on IT support experience, preferably in an academic or multi-user environment.Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 (user management, Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint).Proficiency in hardware and software troubleshooting (Windows, macOS, and basic networking).Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a service-oriented mindset.Preferred Skills
Experience managing the Microsoft 365 Environment.Experience with classroom technology (smart boards, projectors, AV equipment).Familiarity with mobile device management (MDM) tools.Basic knowledge of cybersecurity practices and compliance.Working Conditions
