The Senior Accountant plays a key role in overseeing the company’s day-to-day financial operations.
This position leads the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams, manages cash flow, ensures accurate financial reporting, and partners closely with the Controller / CFO to support month-end close, commission tracking and external audits.
What You’ll Do Lead and support the AP / AR teams to ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, collections, and cash applications.
Manage daily cash flow, reconciliations, deposits, and disbursements.
Oversee the maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledger.
Monitor and reconcile commissions payable, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
Assist with month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and reporting.
Coordinate third-party financial audits, ensuring accurate documentation and timely responses.
Develop and implement process improvements to strengthen internal controls and drive efficiency.
Provide accurate financial data to support business decisions and operational needs.
Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and applicable regulations.
What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.
Experience in manufacturing, food processing, or seafood industry preferred.
Proficiency with accounting / ERP systems and advances Excel skills Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions Office-based position within a seafood processing environment.
In-office role with eventual flexibility to work remotely 1 day per week.
Some extended hours may be required during month-end close or audit periods.
