Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Rubber Tooling Engineer to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining tooling for rubber molding and extrusion processes. This role requires a strong background in tooling design, and process optimization for rubber-based components.

We are seeking a skilled Rubber Tooling Engineer to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining tooling for rubber molding and extrusion processes. This role requires a strong background in tooling design, and process optimization for rubber-based components.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop molds, dies, and tooling for rubber molding and extrusion processes (compression, transfer, and injection molding).
  • Participate in new product introduction (NPI) and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) efforts.
  • Work closely with production, quality, and R&D to ensure tooling meets functional and durability requirements. Specify tooling materials and treatments based on rubber compound properties and production needs.
  • Oversee tool fabrication, troubleshooting, and modifications with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase tooling life, reduce scrap, and enhance product quality.
  • Maintain tooling documentation, CAD files, and change control records.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or associate's in manufacturing engineering, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of experience in rubber tooling or mold design.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, or similar).
  • Familiarity with rubber molding processes and rubber compound behavior.
  • Understanding of machining and tool fabrication methods.
  • Experience with CAD software and design tools. (Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
  • Knowledge of rubber materials and manufacturing processes a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of ISO / TS quality standards.
  • Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Project management experience with tooling implementation.
