Prime Air is seeking an experienced engineering leader who combines superb technical, research and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. Experience in leading embedded systems or firmware development teams is a must. A successful candidate will be comfortable working with a team of top-notch developers and collaborating with our systems, test, safety and security teams. We're looking for someone who innovates, and loves solving hard problems! You will work hard, have fun, and of course, make history! Export Control License : This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon's ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.

Key job responsibilities :

• Lead a team of talented firmware and embedded systems engineers.
• Manage and develop the team, including hiring, retention, performance management, mentoring and capability / skill development.
• Lead architecture, design, implementation, and operational support of key components on the Prime Air delivery drone.
• Act as point of contact for communications dealing with project deliverables, setting the expectation, managing priorities, technologies, and management issues.
• Establish high bar for processes and standards in the execution of all projects.
