About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift : 7 : 00 AM - 7 : 30 PM

Experience : Minimum of 2 years in ICU; stepdown experience preferred

License : Current nursing license

Certifications : BLS, ACLS required; NIHSS, CRRT, and CCRN preferred but not required

Must-Have : Ability to titrate drips and ventilator experience

Description :

Experience required includes managing a variety of patient diagnoses such as cardiac arrest, COVID-19 positive patients, and strokes post-t-PA.

Knowledge of non-threatening bleeds, sepsis, and patients requiring continuous BiPap and intubation is essential.

Candidates should be familiar with EKOS, DKA management, and the Arctic Sun system.

Position entails working with titration of drips and intensive care equipment including vents, BiPap, C-PAP, and high-flow oxygen.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting EKG strips is necessary.

This role may involve taking care of patients in a stepdown or progressive care unit as needed.

There is a nurse-patient ratio of 1 : 1 or 2 patients per nurse.

A nurse unit supervisor or charge nurse is present, and they typically do not take patient assignments unless absolutely necessary.

Clinical technicians are available for support with a ratio of 1 clinical technician to 6 patients.

Registered nurses are expected to handle troubleshooting with respiratory equipment.

Self-scheduling is permitted with block scheduling options available every 6 weeks.

Weekend requirements will be every other weekend, with a commitment to one major holiday and one minor holiday each year.

No call or standby requirement is enforced.

Scrub attire is navy blue.
