Position Purpose
The Quality Inspector is responsible for conducting inspections and testing against product / part engineering requirements and / or customer specifications / procedures to ensure quality manufactured parts.
Key duties and responsibilities
- Verify that all components and labeling are present, correct, and in good condition as per the work order.
- Inspect parts using handheld measurement tools, test equipment, and visual techniques.
- Notify the appropriate personnel immediately upon identifying a non-conformance.
- Perform first part, in-process, and final inspection.
- Process parts physically and electronically per procedure and generate non-conformance reports for discrepant parts.
- Accept and / or reject parts based on documentation.
- Assure that inspection equipment calibration is current.
- Assist in Investigating apparent non-conformities.
- Complete documentation including the use of ERP MRB activities and investigate further as necessary.
- Operate quality measuring machinery, i.e. CMMs and Vision systems.
- Responsible to follow all Vaupell policies and procedures, standard operating procedures and safety practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job requirements
High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)Minimum of 1-year relevant experience.Math aptitude to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Understanding ISO and cGMP requirements.Knowledgeable in use of verniers, calipers, and other similar inspection equipment is required.Basic blueprint reading is required.The uncorrected or corrected vision shall be equal or better than the following :Distance Vision : 20 / 25
Vision at 14 inches : Jaeger Number 1 or 2 based on locationColor Vision NormalAbility to read, speak, understand and follow instructions in English.Must be able to wear and properly use the required personal protective equipment.Candidates must be a “US Person” (i.e. US Citizen or Permanent Resident) to ensure Vaupell's compliance with ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations)
