Description :

Locals accepted for this position.

The unit provides care for Labor and Delivery, Antepartum, and Gyn patients.

Diagnosis includes Gestational Hypertension, Diabetes Mellitus, and Multi-Births.

Candidates must be comfortable with unit procedures such as circumcisions, hearing screens, newborn screenings, general admissions, and C-sections and inductions of labor.

Preferred qualifications include Level 2 nursery experience and experience in circulating, scrubbing, and triage.

No call requirements are in place.

Nurses must work one Friday, one Saturday, and one Sunday shift in each 4-week schedule.

Shifts may not be consecutive unless desired.

Current average deliveries are 140 per month, with an expected increase to the 160s in the coming months.

In-house medical staff includes part-time and on-call physicians.

Staffing per shift typically includes one charge nurse, six to seven nurses, and one scrub nurse.

Staffing levels may vary based on patient census.

The patient ratio is maintained at 1-3.

Additional unit details involve interdisciplinary support from various services including respiratory, phlebotomy, and social services.

Special equipment used includes incubators, labor beds, and fetal monitors.

Candidates must complete required safety clearances before beginning their assignment.
