Job Overview

As one of the oldest medical schools in the country, the UC College of Medicine has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improve the health and clinical care of patients.

The University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine, is seeking to hire a full-time Research Scientist. This individual will Participate in the development and design of research projects, protocols and experiments on various topics.

Essential Functions Modify and adapt experimental protocols, techniques and procedures to specific project requirements.

Design, coordinate and conduct experimental procedures.

Prepare research results and written summaries of results in manuscript form for publications and in graphics form for presentation at research meetings and for grant proposals.

Maintain and ensure compliance with regulatory protocols and records.

May submit research proposals as principal investigator for intramural / extramural funding.

May provide direct and / or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring / firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

PhD in microbiology and / or MD required.

Required Experience

Additional related work experience may be required depending on field or discipline.
