Lardon, located in the heart of Logan Square , is currently seeking a full-time Hybrid Barista / Server to join our front-of-house team. This unique role begins with opening the café as a Barista and transitions into a Floor Server role as lunch service begins.

Our in-house curing program and whole animal butchery operation have earned recognition across the city, with all salumi made on-site in our one-of-a-kind curing room. Complementing our food is a curated beverage program featuring eclectic wines, aperitifs, amari, and locally brewed beers.

Server Responsibilities
Guide guests through their experience with warmth, knowledge, and professionalism.
Maintain strong knowledge of artisanal food, wine, cocktails, and service.
Manage the pace and flow of service while multitasking in a busy environment.
Ensure guests feel welcomed, heard, and cared for — many guests return asking for their favorite servers by name.
Ensure compliance with food safety (ServSafe) and alcohol service (BASSET / TIPS) standards.
Experience in high-volume or fast-paced service environments is a plus.
Bartending or cocktail experience is a bonus but not required.
Barista Responsibilities
Open the café and prepare coffee service including espresso, pour over, cold brew, and tea.
Maintain high standards for coffee quality and presentation — latte art and dial-ins included.
Engage warmly with guests in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment.
Stay productive during slower periods and responsive during busy moments.
Collaborate closely with the rest of the front- and back-of-house team to ensure smooth service.
Prior experience with espresso and craft coffee is preferred.
Familiarity with TOAST or similar POS systems is helpful.
Schedule & Compensation
Full-time availability preferred (including weekends and early mornings).
Compensation : hourly wage and participation in the tip pool.
