About The Position
Weekly Pay # Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) at Golden Years Center, Harrisonville, MO
- Assess, diagnose, and treat residents with speech, language, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessments and physician orders.
- Provide direct therapy to improve communication, cognitive-linguistic function, and swallowing safety.
- Conduct and interpret swallow assessments and recommend diet modifications as needed.
- Document all evaluations, treatments, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with regulations.
- Educate residents, families, and staff on therapy plans, communication strategies, and safe swallowing techniques.
- Participate in care planning and interdisciplinary team meetings for resident-centered care.
- Monitor and adjust treatment plans based on resident progress and outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with professional, legal, and regulatory standards.
- Supervise Clinical Fellows (CFYs) and / or Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) as required.
- Work collaboratively within a skilled nursing / long-term care environment, often with residents who have complex medical needs.
- Maintain strong clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills to support optimal resident outcomes.
