Summary
We are seeking a highly organized, proactive and resourceful Senior Paralegal to support our Risk Management and Legal Team. The Senior Paralegal will have a strong background in legal compliance, excel at drafting and reviewing legal documents, conduct thorough legal research, and help ensure regulatory standards and internal policies are followed. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational and communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while upholding high ethical standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with corporate governance, maintain corporate records, support capital markets and M&A transactions, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations and related matters
- Prepare affidavits or other documents, such as legal correspondence, and organize and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems
- Prepare legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, appeals, wills, contracts, and real estate closing statements
- Communicate with clients and other business partners to discuss details of various matters
- Gather and analyze research data, such as statutes, decisions, and legal articles, codes, and documents
- Ensure all entities comply with registration and authority requirements in all states
- Maintain legal compliance with all states, including timely filing of annual reports, renewals, and other necessary documents
- Interface with Meriton's registered agent, coordinating on subpoenas and other filings
- Support day-to-day administrative matters including word processing, drafting correspondence / reports, and file maintenance
- Complete other duties as assigned

Education / Experience
7+ years of paralegal experienceBachelor's degree in legal studies, political science, or related fieldParalegal certificate requiredStrong knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, and government regulationsKnowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systemsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Salary ranges are dependent upon qualifications, experience, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role and location.
