At Mowery Construction, we thrive when our people thrive. Were currently looking for a Project Engineer to be a supportive force for our Project Management team. The Project Engineer is a critical team member responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of industrial construction projects. This role bridges the technical and administrative aspects of the construction process, ensuring that engineering designs are implemented accurately, and project milestones are met efficiently. The Project Engineer works closely with project managers, field teams, designers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness throughout the construction lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to support field execution.
- Coordinate with design and engineering teams to resolve technical issues and ensure constructability.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of project schedules, work breakdown structures, and milestone tracking.
- Manage and process submittals, RFIs, change orders, and construction documentation.
- Support procurement efforts by reviewing vendor quotes, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring material compliance with specs.
- Monitor field activities to ensure compliance with project plans, codes, and safety standards.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and assist in cost estimating and budget tracking.
- Participate in project meetings and prepare reports, meeting minutes, and status updates.
- Collaborate with QA / QC and safety personnel to uphold company and regulatory standards.
- Assist in commissioning, startup, and project closeout activities, including punch list tracking and as-built documentation.
Preferred skills and qualifications
Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, or related field.24 years of experience in industrial or heavy construction.Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.Familiarity with construction and engineering software.Solid understanding of construction means and methods, materials, and industry standards.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.Ability to travel to job sites and work in industrial field environments.What other Mowery benefits can you expect?
