Position Summary

The Center for Virtual Care Value and Excellence (ViVE) at UNC is seeking a Scientific Writer to support our research team by crafting and refining scientific publications and grant applications. This role requires a strong command of scientific language, the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, compelling narratives, and a keen eye for accuracy and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Master’s degree in a discipline related to the field assigned; or Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and two years of research / analysis, preferably with one year in a supervisory role; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

Advanced degree in a scientific discipline or science communication related to health or medicine; Proven experience in scientific writing and editing related to health and medical projects; Familiarity with grant writing processes and major funding agencies (e.g., NIH, NSF); Exceptional written communication skills and attention to detail; Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

Master’s degree in public health or related field; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
