- Lead and coordinate patient nursing care while overseeing both licensed and unlicensed personnel to achieve optimal patient outcomes through teamwork.\n
- Involve patients, families, and healthcare team members in care planning, education, and discharge strategies.\n
- Communicate effectively with healthcare team members regarding care plans and patient information.\n
- Collaborate with leadership to establish care standards and contribute to the enhancement of patient care services.\n
- Engage in performance improvement initiatives and quality enhancement activities.\n
- Facilitate the orientation of new staff members, both temporary and permanent.\n
- Serve as a resource regarding hospital and departmental policies for team members.\n
- Participate in daily operations to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.\n
- Provide feedback to the Nurse Manager on unit needs and contribute to policy formulation through active participation in committees.\n
- Ensure physical, mental, and social well-being by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care.\n
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and create personalized care plans upon patient admission and for home visits.\n
- Deliver thorough education to patients and caregivers relevant to their care plans.\n
- When assigned, take on case management responsibilities to coordinate multidisciplinary services.\n
- Maintain the productivity standards set by agency leadership.\n
- Engage in multidisciplinary meetings to share information and support patient management.\n
- Attend staff and administrative meetings; participate in quality and performance improvement efforts.\n
- Perform additional duties as needed to support patient care.\n
- Deliver essential functions as scheduled across Mary Washington Hospital and Stafford Hospital locations.\n\nQualifications : \n
- Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with Registered Nurse experience.\n
- A valid RN License from Virginia or a reciprocal compact state is required.\n
- A BSN is preferred.\n
- AHA BLS Provider CPR certification is required at hire.\n
- NIHSS (Bluecloud) certification is required at hire.\n
- Additional certifications may be required based on the assigned unit.\n
