About The Position

Job Title : Pediatric OR Tech Surgical Tech

Profession : Surgical Services

Shift : Day

Hours per Shift : 12 hours (07 : 00 - 19 : 30)

Experience : Minimum two years of pediatric scrub experience or equivalent relevant experience required

License : Must have active license

Certifications : BLS certification through the American Heart Association only

Must-Have :

• Strong skills in Eyes, Urology, Neuro, and Ortho
• Experience with neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics

Description :

The Surgical Technologist prepares the Operating Room prior to surgery.

The role promotes the safety of the patient during surgery.

The Surgical Technologist provides assistance to the surgeon during surgical procedures.

They care for the patient during surgery and manage the instruments and supplies used.

This position functions as a member of the surgical team to ensure patient safety.

The incumbent must possess the knowledge and skills required for effective patient care across all age groups.

On-call responsibilities will include weeknight, weekend, and holiday coverage.

The Surgical Technologist will ensure all procedures follow aseptic techniques.

High acuity cases may include general surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedic procedures, ENT, and GI procedures.

The role requires competency in using specialized equipment and understanding sterilization processes.

Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in various surgical skills and techniques specific to the pediatric population.

This position entails floating to other units as needed during the assignment.

Strong communication and teamwork skills are essential in this role.

Compliance with all safety protocols and universal precautions is mandatory.

Candidates will be expected to participate in continuous education and skills validation.

The ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays may be required based on department needs.
