MBS is hiring a Manual Machinist in Lebanon, OH. This position is a full-time, direct hire opportunity.
FULL JOB DESCRIPTION
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sets up, adjusts, and efficiently operates manual machine tools to perform diversified and difficult operations requiring close / exact tolerances on products with various dimensions and unusual contours and finish specifications.
- Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials into machine.
- Maintains and inspects cutting tools for sharpness and usability.
- Calculates and sets controls and programming to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut.
- Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls as required.
- Basic programming skills.
- Cleans and maintains machine, tooling, and parts to ensure that equipment is in optimal production condition.
- Reports exceptions to the traveler, including hours and material used, to shop lead so the MOM can be adjusted, if necessary.
- Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of company products.
REQUIREMENTS
Ability to operate various types of machine tools to perform progressive machining.Ability to read blueprints and plans.Excellent mathematic and problem-solving skills.Excellent mechanical skills.A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.Vocational training course completion is preferred.Must be able to set up and operate manual machine equipment.Also required is the ability to operate forklift and overhead crane, read measuring instruments, and maintain machinery and equipment in the machining trade.Ability to work in fast-paced environment.Ability to move or lift up to 50+ lbs.Ability to reach, grasp, hold, push, pull, bend, twist, squat, climb, kneel.Ability to utilize hand / eye coordination.Capability to stand for prolonged periods of timeCommunication skills.ABOUT THE KABLE GROUP
