Position Overview

Driving support for the 5-day white water river trek program by loading, transporting, unloading, cleaning, and stocking of gear, staff, and participants with a vehicle and / or trailer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support 5-day whitewater treks with vehicle and trailer driving gear, staff, and guests to and from river
  • Load and unload gear, staff, and guests to and from river
  • Assist in cleaning, packing, and inventory of gear needed for trek
  • Maintain trek equipment in an organized and good working condition
  • Ensure safety and quality standards remain at the highest levels
  • Backup truck trailer in reverse over 200 feet with turns.
  • Model the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactions
  • Maintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work area
  • Perform additional duties assigned by SBR leadership
  • Abide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbook

Qualifications

  • Minimum age : 18+
  • Required : Valid driver's license and ability to obtain Summit Driving permit.
  • Required : Experience driving and backing loaded flatbed trailers.
  • Preferred : Commercial Driver License
  • Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communication

    • Physical & Practical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, hike, and drive and up to 8 hours daily and ability to lift / move up to 70 pounds
  • Complete the Annual Health and Medical Record , including height / weight guidelines
  • Housing : 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform : Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours : 45 - 55
