Position Summary :
Freestone Lake and Golf is one of our new developments and we are growing! The Golf Course Equipment Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of all golf course maintenance equipment, including mowers, tractors, utility vehicles, and small engine tools. This role ensures that all equipment is kept in safe and efficient working condition to support daily golf course operations.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required.
2+ years of experience in small engine or equipment repair (preferably in a golf course, turf, or landscaping setting).
Strong knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
Ability to operate a wide range of golf course maintenance equipment.
Welding and fabrication skills a plus.
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Ability to lift 50 lbs., stand for long periods, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Work Environment :
Work is performed in both indoor shop settings and outdoor environments.
Exposure to loud noise, vibration, fumes, and various weather conditions.
May require early morning, weekend, or holiday hours based on golf course needs.
Essential Functions :
Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical defects / failures in various golf course maintenance equipment including diesel, gasoline, and electric-powered machinery.
Perform routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, blade sharpening, tire changes, fluid checks, etc.) on all equipment.
Maintain a clean and organized maintenance shop.
Keep detailed maintenance and repair records.
Assist in training staff on safe operation and daily maintenance of equipment.
Ensure equipment is properly cleaned, stored, and secured after use.
Monitor parts inventory and order supplies as needed.
Follow and enforce all safety guidelines and procedures.
Occasionally assist with course maintenance as needed.
