Overview

FOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

Job Description

We\'re hiring a Senior Digital Journalist to join the team behind LiveNOW from FOX, FOX TV Stations’ national live streaming news product. LiveNOW is focused on bringing users the most relevant and engaging live news coverage occurring right now across the country and the world, seamlessly moving between the biggest events and stories as they happen. LiveNOW is always raw, live and unfiltered, with limited commentary and no opinion.

Reporting to the Executive Producer, the Senior Digital Journalist will curate, produce and host live coverage of breaking news and important events as they happen, while also serving as a team leader amongst their peers— helping to champion growth and evolution of the product. This position is based at LiveNOW’s west coast newsroom at FOX 10 Phoenix.

Responsibilities

• Gather, produce and present original content live, including breaking news and coverage of major news events, on digital, social, streaming and broadcast platforms nationwide.
• Simultaneously manage content and live video production, including video switching and graphics.
• Monitor live video feeds, newsgathering tools and social media for the latest information and content.
• Maintain constant communication with FOX O&O stations as well as other internal and external partners to coordinate receiving video and new information.
• Take an active role in “championing” the LiveNOW mission, engaging with key players at FTS stations to reinforce needs and improve the collaborative process.
• Help identify future digital journalists and play a key role in training new staff on all technical, editorial and presentation aspects of LiveNOW.
• Take an active role in growing and evolving the product, participating in strategy sessions to plan and execute programming changes designed to attract new audience.
• Work hand-in-hand with LiveNOW leadership to develop and execute digital strategy.
• Stay up-to-date on news and current events.
• Pitch story ideas and contribute to editorial process.
• Monitor real-time analytics.
• Adhere to journalistic standards.
• Assist in planning.
• Produce for and serve as mentor to other Digital Journalists.
• Other duties as assigned.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate / range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $105,000.00-115,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical / dental / vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
