Job Description

Position :         Management Trainee

Department :   Operations

Location :         Cumberland Mine

Reports to : (title)   Mine Engineering Manager / Assigned Department Head

Position Summary

This position is responsible for learning all aspects of the mining process through departmental rotations. This position is designed to develop a strong operational background and managerial skills.  The trainee will gain comprehensive underground experience while accruing sufficient time to obtain their State Assistant Mine Foreman certification.

Major Responsibilities

• Complete Phase I : 12–18-month departmental rotation.
• Complete evaluation forms for each individual rotation.
• Complete Phase II :   Longwall or CM single department rotation.
• Track all underground and surface time throughout training phases.
• Attain Assistant Mine Foreman Certification
• Participate in various mine projects.
