Locum Gastroenterology Physician Opportunity in Rockport, ME

Join a dedicated healthcare team in Rockport, Maine, where you can make a difference in patient care as a Locum Gastroenterology Physician. The facility offers a supportive environment with full staff in the OR, an onsite lab, and x-ray services. Job Responsibilities :

  • Perform gastroenterological procedures including lowers GI endoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, and colonoscopy.
  • Conduct outpatient consultations, managing an average of 14-16 patients per day.
  • Provide inpatient care and be on day call (7am-4pm) for urgent procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with a full support staff including CRNA and anesthesiologist during procedures.
  • Participate in the scheduling and preparation for endo procedures both in the OR and clinic.
  • Utilize EMR software (Epic) for patient records and documentation.

Qualifications :

  • Board Certified in Gastroenterology (ABMS or AOA) - REQUIRED
  • Active Maine license or IMLC LOQ - HIGHLY PREFERRED
  • ACLS and BLS certifications - REQUIRED
  • Availability to work at least one week per month for the remainder of the year and into 2026 - REQUIRED
  • Experience in performing advanced procedures is preferred but not mandatory.

  • Board Certification in Gastroenterology - REQUIRED
  • Active Maine medical license or IMLC LOQ - HIGHLY PREFERRED
  • Current ACLS and BLS certification - REQUIRED
  • COVID and flu vaccinations - REQUIRED
