A Day in the Life of a Regional Router :

A Regional Router coordinates and optimizes the monthly schedules of pest control technicians across a specific geographic area. The primary goal of this position is to maximize the efficiency of technicians and ensure high customer satisfaction by routing appointments in the most time-efficient manner possible. This role is crucial for balancing a high volume of requests with operational logistics, often in a fast-paced, call-center-type environment. This role demands a proactive individual who can anticipate scheduling needs while maintaining a professional demeanor under pressure. This position will collaborate closely with our service managers and customer service representatives to optimize routes and improve efficiency.

Essential Functions :

  • Create, publish, and maintain monthly schedules for 6-8 branches within an assigned region.
  • Optimize service routes within a defined region based on customer location, technician availability, job priority, and traffic patterns to minimize travel time.
  • Work with the Service Manager to help in resolving scheduling conflicts, unforeseen delays, and emergency service requests as they arise.
  • Assign the pest initials and one-time services to the appropriate technician.
  • Collaborate with Service Managers, Inside Sales and Customer Care with any scheduling issues and concerns.
  • Manage the scheduling system and VRM within PestPac.
  • Generate technician schedule reports to assist management in tracking efficiency and productivity.
  • When a technician unexpectedly calls out, the branch will decide how to reassign or reschedule the day's work and inform the Regional Router. The Regional Router will then carry out the required actions and notify customers as needed. This applies exclusively to recurring services.
  • Work with the Routing Coordinators for broad-based routing concerns.
  • Reports to the Central Routing & Scheduling team.

Requirements :

  • Proven experience in scheduling or logistics management, preferably in a service-oriented industry.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • A team focused attitude and professional demeanor.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to anticipate scheduling needs.
