Our client is seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager with a strong background in Hydraulic Design in Westland, Michigan . The ideal candidate will bring at least 10 years of hands-on engineering experience , with demonstrated expertise in hydraulic systems and a proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and complex projects from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers focused on hydraulic systems and product development.
- Oversee the design, analysis, and validation of hydraulic components and systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, procurement, and sales to deliver on-time and within-budget solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for design processes, testing protocols, and product performance.
- Manage project lifecycle from requirements gathering through design, prototyping, testing, and production release.
- Provide technical guidance and serve as a subject matter expert on hydraulic system design, including pumps, valves, actuators, and fluid dynamics.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes.
- Assist in recruiting, developing, and retaining top engineering talent.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Power Engineering, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred).10+ years of engineering experience , with at least 5 years in hydraulic system design3+ years of leadership or management experience , preferably in a manufacturing or product development environment.Proficient with CAD and hydraulic simulation tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, AMESim, MATLAB / Simulink).In-depth knowledge of fluid dynamics, hydraulic circuit design, and relevant standards (e.g., ISO, SAE, NFPA).Strong project management skills with experience managing cross-functional teams and budgets.Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.Experience in automotive, industrial machinery, or aerospace industries is a plus.Benefits
