Job Information

The Wertheim School of Music at Florida International University is seeking adjunct instructors to teach undergraduate and / or graduate courses in Music Performance, Composition, Education, Business, Technology, as well as general appreciation courses for non-music majors.

Please note that this pool is open for the 2024-2025 academic year and is reviewed based on departmental needs. Screening of applications will occur as positions become available and continue until positions are filled.

Minimum Qualifications

Primary Instructors

As a minimum qualification to be considered for any of these positions, the prospective adjunct instructor must hold a master's degree and / or demonstrated skill and knowledge of the instructional material.

In order to teach graduate level courses, anyone holding a master's degree must demonstrate enough experience and knowledge of the subject.

Secondary Instructors and Course Assistants

Bachelor's Degree in Music or equivalent.

Desired Qualifications

Preferred qualifications for all subjects would include a doctorate, or terminal degree in the area of instruction and extensive active performance or teaching experience in the subject matter.
