REPORTS TO : QHSE DIRECTOR
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with the execution of our Permit to Work program by providing oversight of contract / sub contract tasks, workplace inspections (working at heights, LO / TO, confined space, excavation, Hot Work and Lifting and Hoisting. In addition, assists with the Emergency Response efforts, Safety Observation Program and other Safety related duties such as but not limited to monthly fire extinguisher and safety shower / eye wash inspections.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Permit Issuance and closure; Training of new permit writers; Audits of Permits / JSAs and Audits of safety practices (includes procedure development / revisions)

WORKING CONDITIONS
Occasionally : on call schedule (weekends or after hours); close proximity / potential exposure to hazardous chemicals; hot / cold temperatures; work outside; electrical hazards; sharp objects / tools; exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, mud; excessive noise exposure; hot temp devices (burners, flame torches, etc.); vibration; working in difficult interpersonal situations
Frequently : wear PPE; wear uniform; maintaining composure and professionalism under emotional stress; performing multiple tasks at the same time; travel locally between two Houston office locations during work day / shift; travel domestically
Continuously : maintaining TWIC card; maintaining high level of energy and productivity through the work day / shift
