The Role

Applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing. Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.

The SSN(X) Platform Mechanical team is seeking creative, motivated, and technically strong engineers to join our diverse, dynamic and dedicated team of engineers. As a member of our team you'll have the once-in-a-generation opportunity to shape critical functions and novel capabilities for the Navy's next generation fast attack submarine.

The mechanical team is responsible for the concept design, development, and execution of complex mechanical systems across the non-propulsion areas of the submarine, including payload launch and recovery, control surfaces, HVAC, chill water, masts, and many others. You will team with the Navy and industry to develop these systems, molding what will become the world's most advanced and capable submarine.

Must Have

• Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant exempt experience;

Master's Degree and 0 year of relevant professional experience

Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
