Description :

Working on a telemetry unit with 36 beds.

Patient ratios of 4 : 1 with cath recovery.

Maximum ratio of 6 : 1, may extend to 7 : 1 at times.

Staff includes Patient Care Technicians on day and night shifts.

Unit Clerks available on day shift.

Utilizes remote telemetry monitors and Alaris pumps for patient care.

Documentation is completed using Meditech.

Scheduling requires availability for every other weekend.

Agency floats are prioritized for staffing needs, may float to other departments.

Striving for a 75% patient satisfaction rate.

Procedures performed include chest tube insertions, bedside paracentesis, and thoracentesis.

Dress code consists of any scrubs except camo.

Currently recognized with various awards for outstanding staff performance.

Holding the Daisy and Bee award certificates among unit staff.

Monthly STAR award winner voted on by staff members.
