Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description :

The Mechanical Design Engineer plays a critical role in supporting our customers and sales team through designing, developing, building, and testing mechanical systems and components. The primary focus is on design framing and guarding solutions featuring aluminum extrusion and our manufacturing partner 80 / 20 Inc., but designs will also incorporate products from other lines such as enclosures, pneumatics, robot pedestals, pendant arms, and machined components. This position supports our Integration Division in conceptualizing, designing, and testing custom fabricated parts for robot / cobot cells and automated systems. The candidate must have a thorough understanding of mechanical and structural design principles, physics, and proficiency in 2D / 3D design software.

Responsibilities :

• Utilize AutoCAD and SolidWorks to generate designs and models.
• Interface with customers to gather requirements and specifications.
• Develop pricing and quotes, including follow-up discussions.
• Understand product offerings from 80 / 20 Inc. and related vendors.
• Collaborate with sales, controls, manufacturing, and project teams throughout project lifecycle.
• Build and test prototypes for functionality, performance, and safety.
• Prepare assembly instructions and project documentation.
• Review customer specifications to assess project suitability.
