Sanitation Route Supervisor

Inspects residential truck routes and investigates complaints concerning neglect of property and illegal dumping or refuse to ensure compliance with municipal code. This position directly supervises Sanitation Truck Drivers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Checks routes to be certain all garbage has been picked up. Investigates complaints. Locates property owners to explain nature of inspection and investigation findings and to encourage voluntary action to resolve problems. Makes personnel assignments to vehicles and garbage routes. May be required to drive a garbage truck. Plans, assigns, and directs work of employees. Appraising performance of employees. Reward and discipline employees. Address complaints and resolve problems. May participate in interviewing, hiring and training of employees. Must have and maintain, without interruption, all necessary licenses, certifications, clearances, and / or job requirements. Works the assigned schedule and complies with the City's timekeeping and attendance policy.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Valid Texas Class B CDL Driver's License and a good driving record. PREFERRED : Bilingual (English / Spanish) desirable. Three (3) years' experience in garbage collection desirable.
