Commissioning / Controls Engineer. – Job Description
Key Responsibilities :
Create comprehensive test protocols to validate the performance of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, control systems, and emergency backup systems.
Perform functional testing on electrical equipment such as transformers, switchgear, generators, and motor control centers to ensure alignment with design specifications.
Document test results, analyze system performance data, and produce detailed reports outlining findings and any deviations.
Identify and resolve issues encountered during commissioning. Coordinate with contractors and vendors to implement necessary adjustments.
Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical safety codes and standards, including NEC and NETA requirements.
Work closely with project managers, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to effectively manage the on-site commissioning process.
Provide expert-level support and guidance for complex issues related to electrical systems during the commissioning phase.
Prepare thorough commissioning documentation, including test records, punch lists, and final handover packages for the operations team.
Site visits may be required up to 75% of the year, depending on project needs.
