Healthcare Setting : Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), rotating between ICU and step-down units

Employment Type : Travel Nursing Job

Contract Duration : 13 weeks (Start : 9 / 15 / 2025 – End : 12 / 15 / 2025)

Nursing Shift : 12-hour days, 5 : 00 AM – 5 : 00 PM, every other weekend required

Hours per Week : 36

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1780 - $1910

Unit Size : 42 beds (22 ICU, 20 Step Down)

Patient Ratios : ICU : 1 : 1, 2 : 1, or 3 : 1 (acuity-based); Step-down : 4-5 : 1

Scrub Color : Navy blue

EMR System : Cerner

Floating : Required to other ICUs as needed

CVICU RN Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (must reside more than 50 miles from facility; local candidates not accepted)

BLS and ACLS certifications required

Minimum 1 year of recent CVICU nursing experience caring for critically ill cardiothoracic and vascular patients

Proficiency in invasive line monitoring, central lines, ventilators, chest tubes, vasoactive drips, and bedside procedures

Ability to float to other ICUs within the hospital

Must attach required nursing license and certifications with application

Registered Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality patient care to critically ill patients in CVICU and step-down units

Monitor and manage invasive lines, ventilators, chest tubes, and vasoactive drips

Assist with bedside procedures and respond to medical emergencies

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Float to other intensive care units as required

Maintain accurate clinical documentation using Cerner EMR
