Overview
Project Engineering Manager - Underground Transmission Line at Black & Veatch (via Dice). This role is part of an employee-owned company offering a hybrid work environment and opportunities to grow within a diverse, inclusive culture. Visa sponsorship available for this position.
Responsibilities
- Develops and manages budget, schedule, and quality requirements across multiple disciplines for assigned projects
- Actively manages project changes directly with the client in coordination with the Project Manager
- Reviews lower level engineering work or assignments; coordinates multiple discipline activity and may serve as the engineer of record for assigned projects
- Develops good working relationships with project leadership, design teams, and support staff
- Communicates client interests and drivers to project team members and develops approaches to address these concerns in project work
- Provides support to business development and pursuit activities
- Occasional travel to support site visits, design reviews, and client meetings
- Applies knowledge in alignment with Black & Veatch quality program
- Ensures client and industry standards are maintained on assigned projects
- Provides guidance, mentorship, and direction to team members
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited programMinimum of 8 years related work experienceAbility to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (criminal / civil background check, drug screen, motor vehicle records) as applicable by lawPreferred Qualifications
Experience managing EPC or design services underground transmission line projects for investor-owned utilities in the United StatesExperience in design of high voltage underground transmission lines with understanding of lifecycle and equipment specification developmentExperience developing plan and profile drawingsWorking knowledge of CYMCAP and Pull-PlannerStrong communication skills and ability to engage with clients to grow relationshipsAdvanced knowledge of engineering design principles and applicable standardsWorking knowledge of interdisciplinary project coordination : procurement, subcontract administration, permitting, and construction supportWorking knowledge of the proposal process and engineering estimatesP.E. license highly preferredCertifications
Most positions require professional registration or licensure in the designated country, or active pursuit of such registration. Additional licensure may be needed when practicing in a different country. Exceptions may be approved by division management.
Work Environment
Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days, based on manager discretion, performance, and work assignments. Travel to client sites may be required.
