Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated Civil Engineer with land development experience to expand our full-service offerings and strengthen our neighborhood design practice. This role will be central to shaping and delivering both infill and greenfield TND projects, integrating engineering with design and development goals. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable working on small, intricate urban infill sites as well as larger master-planned neighborhood projects.
This position is ideally in office in the historic district with us at 512 N Mission Blvd, Fayetteville AR. For the right candidate, a partially or fully remote position could be negotiated.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead civil engineering design for residential and mixed-use neighborhood projects, from concept through construction.
- Develop site plans, grading, drainage, utility layouts, stormwater management, and roadway design in collaboration with architects and planners.
- Coordinate with municipalities, reviewing agencies, and utility providers to secure approvals and entitlements, including special focus on negotiation of custom street sections and layouts.
- Provide engineering support for rezoning, subdivision, and entitlement processes.
- Prepare technical documents, cost estimates, and construction documents for efficient, buildable solutions.
- Collaborate with internal design teams and external consultants to ensure integration of engineering with architectural and landscape design intent for fully vertically integrated neighborhood design.
- Participate in client presentations and community meetings, communicating technical ideas in accessible, clear ways.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; PE licensure strongly preferred (or ability to obtain within a reasonable time frame).3–8 years of professional experience in land development engineering.Strong understanding of grading, stormwater, roadway, and utility design, including low impact development principals and detailing.Experience with both infill and greenfield development; TND or walkable urban neighborhood experience a plus.Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (or similar software).Knowledge of local, state, and federal permitting and entitlement processes.Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment and manage multiple projects at once.Strong communication skills—able to clearly articulate technical concepts to clients, agencies, and communities.What We Offer
