POSITION : Program Therapist (Licensed : (Registered with the CA BBS)
SITE : Residential Services in San Marcos, CA
REPORTS TO : Clinical Program Manager

GENERAL FUNCTION : This position is responsible for providing appropriate clinical services to youth ages 12-18, including nonminor dependents, and their children in a licensed residential treatment setting. Must provide individual, group, family, and milieu therapy to clients. Must provide information, consultation, advocacy, and collaborative treatment planning within the agency and in cooperation with other agencies. 8-hour shifts M-F - varies between 8a-8p (typically late afternoon and evening hours to meet with clients). Some weekend shifts possible.
QUALIFICATIONS :
MAJOR TASKS :
1. Provide comprehensive therapeutic services such as administering assessments and completing required contract documentation, such as Behavioral Health Assessments, Client Plans, De-escalation and Safety Management Plans, progress notes, transition documents, etc.
2. Provide individual, group, family therapy, parent education, and milieu services as appropriate.
3. Assess client’s needs, strengths and level of functioning; establish a current psychosocial and needs assessment, diagnosis and treatment plan.
4. Complete intake and transition documentation according to regulatory and contract requirements.
5. Participate in Treatment Team meetings, SIR Debriefings and appropriate Child and Family Team meetings.
6. Provide therapeutic services that are knowledgeable and respectful of differing cultures and the norms that exist within various cultures.
7. Consult with Clinical Program Manager, Chief Programs Officer and Consulting Psychiatrist, and Clinical Supervisor regarding assessment and treatment.
8. Establish and maintain consistent contact with client’s Placing Agency Representative, authorized representative, HHSA social worker regarding client’s progress, placement planning, medical needs, and outside services. Provide advocacy and disposition recommendations.
9. Participate in weekly group supervision.
10. Attend all staff meetings and in-service trainings as required.
11. Observe and interact with resident in the setting(s) and during times that best meet their needs (i.e. outside of school hours / weekends).
12. Assist with crisis assessment and behavioral interventions.
13. Transport residents to appointments, including court hearings, using agency and / or personal vehicle, a needed.
14. Assist with on-site visits from Placing Agency Representatives.
15. Provide clinical services, prioritizing tasks to accommodate daily needs of residents.
16. Maintain contract productivity and documentation standards.
17. Provide a minimum of 5 hours of billable services to each assigned client weekly and a minimum of 20 hours of total billable services each week.
18. Provide services to clients not on their regularly assigned caseload, as needed and assigned, and to support the program when other therapists have time off.
19. Perform other tasks as assigned.
EFFECT ON END RESULT : This position assures that therapeutic and specialty mental health services and case management are provided in a trauma-informed and culturally respectful manner to support the care, treatment, and services of residents and their child / ren in Residential Services.
