Senior Electrical Engineer | Federal Projects | Fairfax County, VA

Our client, a respected multidisciplinary engineering firm delivering innovative solutions across secure government, commercial, and institutional projects, is expanding their Facilities Design Group to support a growing portfolio of complex federal work. They are now seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to take technical ownership of projects and lead design delivery across all stages - from concept through construction.

What You’ll Do :

Serve as the electrical discipline lead across multi-phase engineering projects
Oversee all electrical design elements including power, lighting, fire alarm, security, and telecom / data systems
Conduct field surveys, perform calculations, and select equipment
Prepare project specifications, technical reports, and CAD / Revit drawings
Respond to RFIs, review construction submittals, and conduct final inspections
Generate as-built drawings and ensure design compliance with schedule, budget, and quality standards
Collaborate with cross-discipline teams and external partners to resolve technical challenges
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing initiatives

What We’re Looking For :

U.S. Citizenship (required)

B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program

7+ years of experience in electrical system design and specification across commercial, institutional, or government projects

Professional Engineer (P.E.) license (required)

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, AGI32, and SKM software

Proven ability to independently manage projects from concept to completion

Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
