Patient Transporter

This position is responsible for transporting patients, focusing on quality, safety, and customer service, while providing care and compassion to patients, families, visitors, and staff.

Scope

• As a Patient Transporter you need to know how to :
• Transport patients, charts, specimens, and required equipment to various treatment and diagnostic areas throughout the hospital in a safe and efficient manner 100% of the time. Provide emergency assistance to patients who become ill during transport process until clinical staff can be notified and assistance arrives.
• Comfort patients and their families by offering support and encouragement; being punctual and attentive to procedure schedules; demonstrating caring and cultural sensitivity.
• Coordinate the care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
• Verify mode of transportation, obtain patient chart, necessary paperwork, required linens, and / or equipment. Notify nursing staff of patient being transported and the destination.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$17.14 - $22.28
