As a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional nursing care and guiding our team to ensure each patient receives the highest level of support during their most critical moments.\n\nResponsibilities\n
- Adhere to established nursing practices, implementing facility policies and communicating them effectively to fellow staff members, patients, and families.\n
- Receive and give thorough handoffs to ensure continuity of care and prompt follow-up actions.\n
- Conduct patient rounds, manage care teams, and report significant changes in patient conditions to the appropriate healthcare providers.\n
- Supervise and evaluate direct patient care, preparing assignments for nursing assistants and licensed practical nurses.\n
- Provide clinical oversight for certified nursing assistants and assess data gathered by licensed practical nurses.\n
- Perform nursing procedures, including medication administration according to physician orders and facility policy.\n
- Document comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans, participating in care conferences as necessary.\n
- Offer guidance and support to nursing assistants and licensed practical nurses, including participation in the employee evaluation process.\n
- Maintain awareness of emergency protocols and ensure equipment is checked regularly, documenting any incidents as needed.\n
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams, fostering a welcoming and supportive environment.\n
- Act as a patient chaperone during sensitive examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and privacy is maintained.\n\nQualifications\n\nEDUCATION : Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or Science preferred.\n\nEXPERIENCE : Minimum of one year experience in rehabilitative, psychiatric, or geriatric nursing is preferred.\n\nLICENSURE : Must hold a Registered Nurse license in the State of Connecticut.\n\nSPECIAL SKILLS : Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a commitment to maintaining high standards of nursing care.\n\nYNHHS Requisition ID : 150644
