This position is available in a medical surgical unit, focusing on neuro medicine.

\n\nAssignment Duration\n

This is a 13-week contract position.

\n\nSchedule\n

Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18 : 45 - 07 : 15).

\n\nJob Description\n

As a Registered Nurse in the Neuro Medicine unit, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients with neurological conditions. You will work in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient safety and satisfaction.

\n\nResponsibilities\n \n

  • Provide direct patient care to adults and geriatric patients in a medical surgical environment.

    • \n

  • Monitor and assess patient conditions, interpreting cardiac rhythms and responding to emergencies.

    • \n

  • Administer medications and manage IV therapy, including starting and maintaining IVs.

    • \n

  • Implement isolation precautions and adhere to safety protocols within the unit.

    • \n

  • Engage in effective communication with other healthcare professionals and support staff.

    • \n \n\nRequired Experience / Certifications / Licensure\n \n

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical surgical setting.

    • \n

  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required.

    • \n

  • NIHSS certification is preferred.

    • \n

  • Experience with neurological / psychiatric conditions is preferred.

    • \n

  • Charge nurse experience is preferred.
