DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will monitor, operate, and perform minor maintenance on equipment in the utility plant at SCI Coal Township. Work may be accomplished using an inmate work detail under your supervision. You will maintain efficient operations of boiler equipment under normal and emergency conditions, utilize manual and automatic control operation systems, read and interpret a variety of gauges and devices, and perform scheduled and non-routine maintenance and operational assessments. Some of your duties will also include operating and maintaining auxiliary equipment, as well as performing general housekeeping for the plant and other assigned areas. When working with inmate work crews, you will monitor their movement during operational hours, conduct searches for contraband, and ensure inventory records are maintained.
